Have you ever worked for someone that wasn't pleasant to be around? It's uncomfortable and leaves you with a poor attitude. It's easy to get in a bad mood when you are around someone who is in a bad mood.
If a manager of a business has a bad attitude it can negatively impact everyone they work with. Think of a time you went into a business and were treated poorly about the employees. Perhaps you simply overheard the employees speaking badly about the company or someone else that worked there. A situation like that really wouldn't drive you to want to do business with them.
On the other hand remember a time when as you walked into a business you were greeted by a friendly smiling employee. As you browsed the store, everyone you saw was pleasant and friendly. That creates an atmosphere that you want to stay in and a company that you feel good about doing business with.
It is easier for one person with a bad attitude to create an unpleasant working environment than it is for one person with a good attitude to fix it. The old saying that one bad apple can spoil the rest rings true in business. If you have a manager that has a bad attitude it can affect the attitude of your entire staff.
When the employees aren't happy they may mistreat the customers because they are apathetic about their work environment. If their manager isn't happy, what do they have to be happy about?
Happy employees are more likely to treat customers better and provide better customer service. Without good customer service your business will not be as successful. Having a manager with a good attitude will help influence the employees to have a better attitude creating the possibility for a more successful company.
